Hair Extension Techniques

Here's how to look great up top

Before we get to the actual topic of application, its important for one to know about the utility of the technique as well, This is a technique of adding hair to your own hair by means of fusion (strand by strand), weaving, braiding or bonding. There are many variations to all of these techniques and stylists call these by different names. Now clip-ins is also called extensions. Extensions are usually applied by a stylist but many customers are doing this

There are different techniques available for applying hair extensions some of them are given below

Advanced Weaving and Individual Pinch Braid Techniques

Colour and texture can be matched perfectly to match your own hair. Extensions can be worn ongoing for a long time with tightening every 2-3 months. You can reuse the hair over and over with the pinch braid string technique. Natural hair must be at least 2-3 inches to attach the fake hair (sometimes a bit shorter). Extensions are comfortable to wear and easy to remove or tighten.

Synthetic hair extensions can be added for length or thickness with our pinch braid technique. Synthetic hair has amazing colours (that never fade). Synthetic hair comes in straight texture. Only at this time natural hair must be at least 2-3 inches long to attach. Can be worn for a long time and tightened every 2-3 months.

Sometimes hair can be used over and over again. Often-synthetic extensions

Can be added for thickness and colour and texture. They are called special ex. And are done with synthetic hair.

They are the same length as your normal hair. Costs are less and it's a great way to have different hair. It's a good way to experiment with hair extensions. No damage and no slippage. Any haircut can be enhanced with some streaks.

Application of hair extension

There are certain methods of applying hair extensions they are as follows.

By weaving
Sew-on-Weaving technique which is used to add length and volume by applying extension wefts to the client’s natural hair. This technique is not noticeable as the natural hair is braided underneath and cannot be seen. Weaving is a safe technique that does no damage to the client’s own hair, instead protecting it and allowing natural hair growth to continue.

Whilst a full head of weaving is often popular, clients may choose to add only a few rows of weft depending on the desired style.

There are several methods of attaching weaves. The original method, which is still used today, is by cornrowing the entire natural hair or leaving the hairline and nape of the neck loose to cover the weft. The appropriate method of weaving would be determined after assessing the client’s needs through consultation.

This is a process, which you create a cornrow or track around the head and close to the scalp. Extension hair is sewn on the tracks. Your own hair lies over the tracks for a natural look

By fusion or strand by strand
This is a process done strand by strand in small sections. Using heated adhesive sticks made for extensions placed in a glue gun. Extension hair is added directly to your own hair. Your hair lies over the top for a natural look.

By bonding
This is the easiest method. Bonding glue is applied onto the weft of the extension hair and then applied at the root of your hair. This is a temporary method.

Clip-ins
Clips have been sewn onto human extensions hair. You may clip these in and out yourself.

Make your own choice
You can choose colour, which matches your own hair, choose a length and curl pattern. Read how extensions are applied to decide if you would like to do this yourself. You may also take your new hair to a stylist to have hair added. The most important part of hair extensions is the right quality of hair, if you are purchasing one by your own self. You are in charge of this very important decision. You will have the exact hair you want.
